Dialectical Behavior Therapy is a type of therapy that focuses on helping individuals develop skills to regulate their emotions, uncover more effective ways of coping with life's challenges, and improve overall well-being. DBT skill training is comprised of four core modules: Mindfulness: A core component of DBT, Mindfulness practice involves being present in the moment and maintaining awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and surroundings. Practicing this approach in everyday situations can allow you to respond to them in a more intentional way. Emotion Regulation: In this module, we focus on learning specific skills to identify, understand, and manage emotions, thereby gaining to freedom to express them in healthy ways that are more in line with your long-term goals. Interpersonal Effectiveness: By developing effective communication and relationship skills, you can improve your ability to manage emotions in social situations, resolve conflicts, and ultimately build more positive relationships. Distress Tolerance: Distress tolerance skills involve learning how to tolerate and cope with distressing situations without resorting to harmful behaviors or unhealthy coping mechanisms. By developing these skills, you can better manage intense emotions and difficult situations without making them worse. Incorporating DBT skills into your daily life can help you regulate your emotions and improve your overall sense of well-being and mastery. Whether you're dealing with intense emotions, interpersonal difficulties, or simply looking to improve your emotional health, DBT skill training can provide you with the tools you need to live more effectively. Services for Dialectical Behavior Therapy skill training include: Individual Therapy Sessions: Develop knowledge in DBT or reinforce your previously attained skills. Based on severity of current symptoms, it may be encouraged that you are concurrently enrolled in or have recently completed (within 90 days) a DBT Treatment Program. DBT Phone Coaching: Extended availability may be offered as an additional service at the discretion of the therapist. Please inquire about the current availability of this service due to limited capacity.
